Youth Adventure Camp

BVSC is sending 3 youngsters , ages 13-17, to the NRA Whittington Center Adventure Camp. Jake Farber is also sponsoring a fourth through his AODD Corporation. The cost is $1300 per camper for a 12 day adventure in the summer of 2024.

The application of this amazing experience is open to high schoolers of Buena Vista, Leadville and Salida. Sadly Salida HS is hesitant to participate.

Applications can be picked up at the clubhouse. The application should include a 2 page essay on patriotism and is due November 20. Our Board will make the 4 selections by December 6.

We have already collected $2,800 from generous sponsors. The likes of Salida Gun Shop, Comfurt Gas, SDCEA and Salida Ace Hardware and we’re not done yet. Several members have expressed interest in contributing to this landmark experience for 4 lucky campers.
