Established in the late 1800’s as the Buena Vista Rod & Gun Club

The Buena Vista Sportsman’s Club is a non-profit membership corporation whose purpose shall be the encouragement of organized rifle, pistol and shotgun shooting among the citizens and permanent residents of the United States of America, with a view toward a better knowledge on the part of such persons of the safety, handling, proper care of firearms and improved marksmanship.

The Buena Vista Sportsman’s Club meets at 7 PM on the first Wednesday of each month in the Harry & June Smith Clubhouse at the Buena Vista Rodeo Grounds. The Club is NRA-sanctioned and NRA-insured, and the membership includes NRA Certified Range Safety Officers. The Club is an affiliate of the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Shotgun, rifle, pistol, archery, and hunter education activities are provided by the Club.

Anyone desiring to become a member must submit an application and dues, and be accepted by the Club membership.  The membership application and dues details can be downloaded here.  The completed application and dues payment can be mailed to the Club address on the application or be brought to a monthly Club meeting.  Applications will not be accepted from felons, domestic abusers, child abusers/molesters, or anyone otherwise unable to pass a Colorado Bureau of Investigation background check.
