Who Are We
The Buena Vista Young Guns is a team of competitive trap and 5 Stand shooters that compete in the Colorado State High School Clay Target League.

Students must be in grades six through twelve (or per school team requirements) and possess a league-approved firearm education certificate.

How Much Does It Cost
Registration currently is $35.00 for USA Clay target league. Students that are not registered with USA clay target league are invited to participate as well, there scores do not count in the team scores. The Buena Vista Young Guns also encourage the membership in the ATA’s youth wing, AIM as well as traveling to extra-Curricular competitions too represent our region.

BVSC graciously extends membership pricing of $5.00 per round of trap to students in the league. A round of trap consists of 25 targets. Students are responsible for the cost of their targets and ammunition. A Season of competition is 10 rounds of 25 targets (not including practice). A season could be as low as $85.00 for a 5-week season plus ammunition.

The club has 4 levels of participation

• The Green Team
  Unregistered participants of the “team” working on mechanics etiquette safety respect

• The Red Team
  Registered participants of the “team” working on mechanics, etiquette, safety, and respect.

• The White Team
  Registered participants of the “team” working on mechanics, etiquette, safety, and respect. Also, working on competition skills and working with a wide range of coaching staff.

• The Blue Team
  The only difference between the blue team and the white team is blue team members have demonstrated and continue to demonstrate a mastery of ethics safety etiquette and superb respect expected of our club. The blue team members are the leaders of the club (regardless of age and target average)
